Born and raised in England, Tim Ward is an artist who combines old world technicality with a modern aesthetic. He studied fine art at Staffordshire University from 1988 to 1990 before moving south to London to work on commercial art and design projects whist honing his painting and drawing skills.
Ward relocated to New York City in 1999, motivated by the search for artistic inspiration from real life stimuli. In 2000 he worked with Sol Lewitt on a major installation commissioned by the Embassy Suites Hotel in lower Manhattan. During the next couple of years his career pushed in a new direction as he focused on numerous private commissions.
Since 2006, Ward's work has been shown on several occasions in New York City, and he has completed projects in Chicago, London and Dublin.
