About the Artist
Born and raised in England, Tim Ward is an artist who combines old world technicality with a modern aesthetic. He studied fine art at Staffordshire University from 1988 to 1990 then moved south to London to work on commercial art and design projects while honing his painting and drawing skills.
Ward relocated to New York City in 1999, motivated by the search for artistic inspiration from real life stimuli. In 2000 he worked with Sol Lewitt on a major installation commissioned by the Embassy Suites Hotel in lower Manhattan. During the next couple of years his career pushed in a new direction as he focused on numerous private commissions. At the same time, he worked at the Whitney Museum of American Art.
The birth of his daughter, Bluebell, in 2004 coincided with a burst of creativity that has seen the artist become his most prolific. In 2006 his work was shown in New York, and he completed projects around the world from Chicago to London to Dublin.
